Ella Maesepp has been a professional Landcare Officer since 2003, supporting broadacre farmers and rural communities to tackle issues such as salinity, biodiversity conservation, erosion, water quality and climate adaption.
Living and working in Katanning, 300 kilometres south east of Perth, WA, she is a former West Australian Young Landcare Leader awardee and a previous winner of the WA Youth Awards (Environment).
Ella is married to a cattle, sheep and grain farmer and reconciles large-scale climate information with experiences on their home property.
She is a keen advocate for the important role of individuals in tackling climate change and runs Katanning Eco-House, a domestic sustainability business based around her own family home. By demonstrating her own solar-passive strawbale house, which uses 100% solar & wind power, she aims to normalise low-impact, high-quality living.
