John Connor

John Connor has had over 25 years’ experience in public and private policy , having worked across the business, community and political spectrum with those prepared to take the steps necessary for genuine change.

He is currently CEO for the Carbon Market Institute, an industry association for business leading the transition to net-zero emissions. Its members include more than 120 companies spanning the carbon value chain from primary producers, carbon service providers and emission intensive companies.

John’s CMI role follows over two years based in Suva with the Fijian Government’s COP23 Presidency on international climate negotiations. Prior to that he led The Climate Institute, which pioneered approaches to put focus on financial institutions.
