Sam Mella considers herself a ‘daughter of the coal industry’, as her father worked on several iconic Queensland coal mines, giving her a deep understanding of the significance of the coal in Australia’s history.
As Beyond Zero Emissions’s project leader in the Hunter Valley, Sam authored the Hunter Case Study in BZE’s Million Jobs Plan.
She’s also done pioneering work on the renewable energy export market and investigated High Voltage Direct Current as a potential renewable energy export.
Sam is also a founder and director of Pilbara Solar Pty Ltd.
